Victoria Forklift License Practice Exam

Using a spotter is the best action to help maintain visibility when carrying a large load. A spotter, typically a trained individual, assists the forklift operator by providing guidance and information on the surrounding environment while the forklift is in operation. This person can relay important details about nearby obstacles, pedestrians, or other vehicles, which the operator may not see clearly due to the obstructed view from the large load.

While slowing down can help reduce risks associated with visibility issues, it does not actively improve the operator's awareness of their environment. Repacking the load could potentially change its size but may not be feasible in many situations and does not necessarily enhance visibility during transport. Driving in reverse might allow for better visibility, but it can also create more hazards if not done with the assistance of a spotter, especially in busy or crowded areas.

In essence, having a spotter significantly enhances safety and operational efficiency by providing crucial visual information that the operator may lack when navigating with a large load.
